Joctober and the MLB Playoffs

It has been an action filled MLB playoffs with walk offs galore. Much of the excitement has emanated from none other than Joc Pederson leading fans to called this playoff run by the Braves; Joctober. Pederson, flashing his bold pearl bead necklace, hit the longest HR in the playoffs measured at 454 ft in game 2 of the NLCS of Max Scherzer. His crazy run in this year’s playoffs is matched by his 2016 performance where he batted .419 and his 12 career playoff HRs.

Pederson is not the only Jewish Braves player. Max Fried has started a game in the NLDS and NLCS and the team has won both contests.

Though bounced in the NLDS, Rowdy Tellez of the Brewers hit 2 HRs in 10 ABs.

In the American League, Alex Bregman and the Astros are still alive. Bregman as 1 HR in the NLCS. He had 6 hits in the ALDS, helping to propel his team to the next round.

Ryan Sheriff of the Rays and Garrett Stubbs were left off the playoff roster. Ethan Katz was the pitching coach for the Chicago White Sox who lost to the Astros in the ALDS.
