For NBA we decided to include the WNBA. Dolph Schayes is the obvious #1 pick. He is a NBA Hall of Famer and named to countless lists of greatest players. Omri Casspi is slotted as the other NBA player because of what he has meant to Israeli basketball and a strong NBA career. We could have filled in the list with Ernie Grunfeld, Jordan Farmar and more but to really understand Jews in the NBA you must look to the WNBA.

While both Nancy Lieberman and Sue Bird are not out spoken Jews and some even question their religious beliefs, both have told me personally about their pride in being Jewish. Lieberman and Bird are both in the argument for the greatest guards ever to be on the court. Lieberman is a Hofer and Bird is not too far behind.

Others considered we Lenny Rosenbluth, Jordan Farmar, Ernie Grunfeld, and Danny Schayes. This list could quickly change if Deni Avdija makes a major impact.
