Top 100 Greatest Jewish Athletes of All-Time!

Over the next year, once a month, we will be counting down the Top 100 Greatest Jewish Athletes of All-Time. We took into consideration their skill level, connection to Judaism and/or Israel, their records or achievements, impact they had on the game, moments they created and beyond. The list does not include coaches (unless they played i.e. Larry Brown), owners, managers, or personalities. All levels of athletics were consider; Professionals, Amateurs, Collegiate, and High School. Finally, this list is ONLY athletes who had an impact in America. We are considering doing a follow up list to include Israel/World. Enjoy the read!

91: Red Holzman – A NBA champion whose pro career led to a fantastic coaching career. If this list included coaching achievements he would be much higher.

92: Jamila Wideman – 3rd overall in the 1997 WNBA draft and a Standford legend but her WNBA career did not ascend to the heights predicted.

93: Josh Rosen – Pains us that Rosen isn’t higher on this list. Maybe the greatest Jewish college football player of all time but his NFL career has been lackluster.

94: Jordan Farmar – Farmar had a solid NBA career. 2x NBA champion and a short lived Israel basketball career.

95: Dean Malenko – One of the greatest in-ring wrestlers of all time but his Judaism, in sports entertainment, is rarely known.

96: Alix Klineman – Olympic Gold Medalist in Beach Volleyball!

97: Noam Dar – Dar is the first Israeli to wrestle in WWE.

98: Elliot Maddox – Maddox had an 11 year Major League career which included a .989 fielding percentage as an outfielder.

99: Abby Meyers – Meyers is a rookie in the WNBA and has been involved in the Maccabi Games. Sky is the limit!

100: Norm Sherry – Sherry’s numbers were not overly incredible but his impact, merely by being attributed to Sandy Koufax’s success, will always be felt.

NOT INCLUDED BUT COULD BE: The three names below could jump the list but due to there Jewish identity we struggled where to place them on the list.

Domantas Sabonis* – In the process of converting to Judaism

Alysha Clark* – Deep ties to Israel and Judaism but raised Christian

Ralph Branca* – Jewish story came out after he passed away
